On July 18th, the Women’s Leadership Project will speak at the Brooklyn Ethical Society on the organization’s twenty plus years implementing Black feminist humanist mentoring, civic engagement, advocacy and prevention education in South L.A. schools and communities.  Despite the California Fair Act and California Healthy Schools Act, Black and LGBTQIA+ affirming trauma informed, health prevention education is few and far between in California schools. The talk will center on the intersectional and multidisciplinary Black feminist, womanist and humanist-aligned curriculum and methodology that the WLP has utilized training high school and college-aged Black girls, girls of color and LGBTQIA+ PoC youth to be organizers, activists, educators, and artists.
