Sikivu’s speculative fiction play “The Kinderness” is among the Honorable Mentions for the 2026 Relentless Award given by The American Playwrighting Foundation. The play was among 45 selected from over two thousand applicants. According to the American Playwrighting Foundation: “Of all the many hundreds of plays that each of our subcommittee members read, these were the ones that reached the very top of their personal lists. We’re thrilled to welcome these plays and playwrights into the Relentless community.” The play focuses on The Kinderness Corporation, which is led by a Black woman engineer. The Kinderness Corporation manufactures time traveling white androids, known as “Kinders,” who are tasked with carrying out acts of historical restorative and reparationist justice for Black communities.
