The Women’s Leadership Project’s annual #Standing4BlackGirls March & Rally to end rape culture and sexual violence took to the streets on Saturday, October 26th, calling out the disproportionate rates of sexual violence, domestic violence and trafficking targeting Black girls, Black women and queer youth. The coalition also mobilized around the creation of a Tioni Theus youth space in South L.A.’s City Council District 8. Speakers included WLP’s Sikivu Hutchinson, Jessica Robinson, Clay Wesley; youth leaders Ama Boateng, Amor Jackson, Josh Ezeibe and Jasmine Hutchinson Kelley, in addition to adult partners Dr. Ronda Hampton, Summer McBride, Abene Clayton, Suzette Shaw, Kathy Evans and Maryellen Brown.
